Anatomy of a Chevrolet Truck

from:

There are various Chevy truck parts that exist today. In fact, there are too many of them to be compiled completely in a short article. Chevrolet have been manufacturing trucks nearly a century now and counting. Parts, both auto-body and engine, have become complicated as time goes by.

Below is a short run-down of Chevy truck parts and learn a bit about them.

• Air filter – is a gadget that removes alien particles that may pollute the interior of the truck.

• Air intake – utilizes the air pressure generated by the truck’s movement to boost internal air pressure.

• Brake disc or rotor – is made out of cast iron and attached to the wheel or its axle that halts or slows down the tire’s rotation that would eventually cut short temporarily the truck’s motion. Versions come whether drilled or slotted.

• Brakes – halt the engine’s motion through friction.

• Catalytic converter – lessens the pollution caused by the internal combustion engine. This makes your truck environmentally-friendly.

• Shocks and/or shock absorber – is a tool that calms down a sudden shock impulse and dissipates kinetic energy.

• Tonneau cover – used to enclose your truck bed.

• Alternator – converts your truck’s mechanical energy to a fluctuating current electrical energy.

• Spark plug – ignites compressed aerosol gasoline by means of an electric spark.

• Headlights – lights on the front end of your trucks and provides clearer vision at night.

• Headlight covers – shields the headlights from damages when not in use.

• Radiator – efficiently provides a trade in or out of heat energy from fluid to fluid.

• Brake pads – are those pads attached near to the axles.

• Brake dust shields – are coin-shaped platforms attached to the wheel’s axle to defend the tires from brake dust.

• Bug shield – located on top of your truck’s front end, it blocks bugs from penetrating into the hood.

• Bumper Guard – protects the truck’s bumper and the whole truck itself. Some versions shield the headlights too.

• Car cover – protects your truck when left in the garage or not in use. Some brands would resist moist, dust, pollution, dander, and other unwanted particles.

• Cold Air Intake – cools down the interior part of your truck and separates the heat of the engine away from the driver and the passenger seats.

• Car bra – covers the front end of your truck.

• Exhaust system – controls the flow of burnt gases from the internal combustion engine, which includes a set of pipes.

• Flywheels – is a weighty coin-shaped metal platform that rotates, caused by the angular momentum of the wheel, which is manoeuvred by the engine.

• Headers – complicated combination of cylinders that collect exhaust gas from various cylinders and merge these flows into a sole tube.

• Cargo Liner – fits the truck bed for cargo items.

• Fender flares – are concave semi-circular metallic platforms attached to the truck’s fenders. Its use is more for decoration.

• Floor Liner – placed next to the seats for the protection of the floor.

• Floor Mats – are usually made of rubber and placed on top of the floor liners.

• Grille Guard – protects the grilles from possible damage.

• Intakes – are those that regulate the flow of the air for an engine. The idyllic intake boosts the velocity while downgrading turbulence and flow constriction.

• Lowering kit – set of tools used for repair of the truck’s bottom.

• Mud flaps and mud guards – protect the wheels and the fenders from rock chips, mud, and similar unwanted matters.

• Muffler – the final tube that brings out the burnt gases from the exhaust system.

• Nerf Bars – are usually of shiny metallic tubes and black aluminium attached at the truck sides’ bottom.

• Oil Filter – refines oil in the truck’s engine.

• Performance chip – is the nucleus of your truck’s engine parts.

• Running boards – are lengthy, narrow platforms attached to the sides’ bottom edge for easier access for short people.

• Seat cover – is apparently the covering of the seats. It is usually made of leather.

• Taillight covers –protects the truck’s taillights.

• Taillight guards – stainless steel tubes protecting the taillights.

• Vent visor – is attached to the windowsill’s upper edge that allows the passenger or the driver to slightly open the windows for fresh air when rain or snow is not too much.

Be complete or be square. Grab a piece of each of them and make your truck the best it can ever be!
